Team

Alexandra Matte-Landry is an assistant professor at the School of Social Work and Criminology at Université Laval. She is a psychologist-neuropsychologist and researcher specializing in the field of youth and childhood, more specifically with regard to experiences of adversity and trauma, their consequences on children's development, youth protection and trauma-informed care.

Professor Matte-Landry has a collaborative network in both academic and practice settings. She is actively involved in the transfer of knowledge to the community, the next generation of students and stakeholders working with young people and families.

Alexandra also likes: running, the outdoors and learning about World War II and astrophysics.

Project description: I am currently working on the Developmental Assets Framework. It is a model for making predictions and conceptualizing the main elements of human development. As part of the project, we use the Étude longitudinale du développement des enfants du Québec (ELDEQ) to document developmental assets and thus be able to describe their temporal variations and identify at what times their effects are magnified (or reduced) on the phenotypes of interest. In short, I aim to create leverage and guide the development of evidence-based programs supporting positive youth development.

Project description: As part of my master's degree in social work, intervention profile, I am setting up an intervention in the social pediatrics center in the Thetford Mines area. The objective is to improve the participation and commitment of vulnerable clienteles.

Project description: As part of the research Des Communautés pour le Développement des Enfants et leur Santé (CoDES) – quartiers centraux de Québec, we documented the perspectives of leaders and stakeholders from four central neighborhoods of Quebec City (i.e. Lower Town, Limoilou, Vanier and Duberger-Les Saules) on the environmental factors that influence the development of young children and the well-being of families. We aim to identify certain levers of action for caring living environments for 0-5 year olds.
